WHY ASSISTANCE LEAGUE OF LOS ANGELES Since 1919, Assistance League® of Los Angeles (“theLeague”) has delivered critical need services toimpoverished children. Today, League programs provide clothing, groomingproducts, school supplies, arts enrichment, preschooleducation, and college scholarships to nearly 24,000impoverished children and young adults annually, manyof whom are experiencing homelessness or are in thefoster system. League programs engender hope, confidence, andself-esteem in the youth served.

OUR VOLUNTEERPROCESS STEP 1To organize an activity for your team,contact AndyMike Emata ataemata@assistanceleaguela.org.STEP 2 AndyMike and the League team will workwith you to identify the appropriate programor project best suited to your needs, goals,and availability. STEP 3 Once your activity is confirmed, the Leagueteam will ensure your volunteer day ismeaningful, well-organized, and productive.

POLICY AND PROCEDURESKindly submit your project request 3-4 weeks beforeyour desired project date. Assign a company team leader to communicate toemployees about the event, including volunteerassignments, clothing recommendations, directions, andparking. The League will provide all information to thecompany team leader for communication. To schedule a planning session with staff, please emailaemata@assistanceleaguela.org

Assistance League of Los Angeles | Volunteer ToolkitOPERATION SCHOOL BELLOSB PROVIDES CHILDREN WITH NEW:Shoes, clothing, backpacks, school supplies, personalcare items, books, sweaters, socks, undergarmentsand a toy!This promotes their school attendance and self-confidence. OSB serves more than 9,847 children inneed every yearSERVICE PROJECT:Volunteers help assemble grooming kits and schoolbackpacks with school supplies, clothes, books, and toysat the League Chapter House in Hollywood. Time commitment is usually 2 hours. Ideal for groups of 5 – 10 volunteers

Assistance League of Los Angeles | Volunteer ToolkitFOSTER CHILDREN'SRESOURCE CENTERFCRC (NORTHRIDGE): Foster children in crises receive clothing and supplies,giving them a fresh start and bolstering their self-esteemSERVICE PROJECT:Volunteers work with League members to becomepersonal shoppers for the children, assisting them withselections and making it a day to remember.Ideal for short-term volunteering for groups of 2-4volunteers The time commitment is 2-3 hours per project when theCenter is open: Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday.

Assistance League of Los Angeles | Volunteer ToolkitPRESCHOOL LEARNING CENTERPLC: Our nationally accredited preschool provides low-income children with a safe, nurturing environment thatpromotes academic, physical, social, emotional, andcognitive developmentSERVICE PROJECT:Assist with various activities, including craft projects,face painting, spreading holiday cheer by gifting andwrapping toys, and more! Ideal for one-time or ongoing volunteering for smallgroups of up to 8 volunteers All projects at the League’s Preschool Learning Centerin Hollywood for 1 – 2 hours

A book drive, aschool supply drive, a pajama drive, no-sew blanketmaking, and helping with our Prom Day boutique. SERVICE PROJECTS:Family Day of Service: offered one Saturday inFebruary, June, and November Prom Day: held in March to outfit female-identifyinghomeless or foster youth
